The National Library

  • Book Now

During the Second World War the Library reserves were either destroyed or robbed, so the global search for the lost items commenced. In 1944 the Library resumed serving readers.

Today it contains about eight million items, among which one can find books dating back to the 15th and 16th centuries. Daily excursions introduce visitors to the rarest editions from East and West (among them – three books of the Bible translated into Old Belarusian by Francisk Scarina). Visitors learn about modern technologies implemented in the library complex, walk along the sun-lit galleries where paintings by modern Belarusian artists are on exhibit and admire breathtaking view from the Library’s roof. The tour lasts for one hour and is a perfect way to conclude your Minsk City Tour.
